About Me
I’m a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. When my son started elementary school, I started college at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Five years later, I earned an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago.
I spent 10 years working in corporate America. My last job was as Director of Administrative & Technical Services, Science & Technology Labs for a major manufacturing company. After those plush employment days, I began to learn the real challenges of meeting a payroll — my own.
I’ve maintained a home office for the past two decades. I’m a serial entrepreneur who has been involved in developing over 30 companies. I work with small business boards of directors on strategic and operations planning. I’m a life-long student of things fun, complex, and collaborative.
I currently live in the Pacific Northwest, near Seattle, WA. It’s beautiful here.
Why I decided to do a weight loss site?
I read recently that 75% of Americans will be obese or overweight by 2010. Do you find this statistic as sobering as I do? I realized that if I don’t get my own weight loss *issues* under control, I will be part of this unhealthy majority.
I know how not to eat. I know how to overeat. What I didn’t know was how to eat to lose weight, or how to maintain that loss. I know I must exercise more and be consistent about it. As I get older, weight loss and regular exercise are basic to maintaining health. I’ve been blessed with great health. I want to stay healthy. Don’t you?
It’s mandatory for me to become as knowledgeable as possible about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I want to do it. Join me. Let’s get fit together.
